Brainware University is a West Bengali private state university that was established in 2016 and has been recognised by the UGC. The Directorate of Medical Education of the West Bengal government, PCI, AIU, INC, WBNC, BCI, and the Ministry of MSME of the Indian government have all granted approval to the university. Brainware University is now recognised as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR). According to the IIRF Ranking 2023, Brainware University is the best technical university in West Bengal.

Brainware University admissions for the academic year 2025-26 are open for Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and Diploma courses. The application process commenced on April 16, 2025.

Eligibility criteria: Eligibility criteria vary depending on the course. Here are some general criteria and examples based on the information available for 2025 admission: Bachelor (UG) Course: B.Tech: A minimum of 60% of the total compulsory subjects in 10+2 exams with physics, chemistry, and mathematics (55% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD). B.Sc (Honors): Biotechnology/Agriculture: Biology and Chemistry/PCB/M/Z with minimum 55% total marks with 10+2 as compulsory subjects. Animation and Multimedia/Media Science and Journalism/Food Nutrition and Dietemology/Advanced Networking and Cyber ​​Security: Passed 10+2 exam with 50% marks in any discipline. BCA: minimum 50% in 10+2 exam (55% for BCA Hons.). BBA: minimum 50% in 10+2 exam (SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ PWD 45% total). B.Pharm: 10+2 with minimum 45% marks in physics, chemistry and biology/mathematics with minimal 45% marks (55% for reserved categories). BA LLB/ BBA LLB: Class 12 with at least 50% agarigate (42% for OBC and 40% for SC/ ST). Postgraduate (PG) Course: MBA: Bachelor in any discipline with at least 40% total (35% for reserved categories). MCA: 10+2 or graduate with at least 40% total (35% for reserved categories) with mathematics as a subject in graduation. M.Tech: B.E./b.tech/AMIE/AMIETE in relevant subjects (CSE/IT/MCA/MSC CS/IT). M.Sc: A minimum of 40–55% was graduated in relevant discipline with a minimum of 40-55% total marks. LLB: Bachelor in any discipline with 45% marks (42% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST). LLM was passed with LLM: 45% marks (42% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST). M. A. (English): BA in English with 40% marks (Honors) passed.
